Starting a Chaos Cultist Gang Guide 3/3; Mission analysis

Last of the three part look into the Necromunda Cultists is the juicy one, here is an overview of each mission of 24 (thanks book 4) missions at time of going to press that will benefit you as the Chaos gang loving-sinisters the most....
Ultimately don't be afraid to give those I've noted as 'poor' choice a chance, as once the bullets get flying its all to play for! Based on how I run the gang (cheap horde) this is my interpretation of how each would go.

Starting a Chaos Cults Gang Guide 2/3; Gang pros and cons

Whilst the Chaos Cult choice may seem like an easy leap from 40k-Necromunda, do they have any strengths in Campaigns? Skirmishes?

So, building a gang. First things first lets look at the base stats and options for what they can offer.

Starting a Chaos Cult Gang Guide 1/3: Collecting, converting, painting

The downtrodden, the knives in the dark, the ruination of the Imperium. The blood-flecked-sweaty-toothed-insane-hiveman you thought you knew. Chaos Cultists!

Starting a Goliath Gang Guide 3/3; Mission analysis

So, last part of the guide, is a look into how the Goliaths perform in different missions.
If you get the option, here are some of the 18 (at time of going to press) missions that will benefit you the most. I’ve tried to think ahead to how the above will benefit you in these missions.

Sneak preview - Goliath get a bit of a raw deal here.

Starting a Goliath Gang Guide 1/3; Collecting, Converting, Painting

The biggies, the bruisers, the forge-frenzied-gene-packed-gunning-for-your-guts boys in (mostly) red. The Goliaths!
These were a great poster child for the newest edition of Necromunda, if you wanted something to grab you, then this was definitely the right choice.

Necromunda configurable boards

Mixed up Mortalis and Necromunda.

Combine them people, combine them now! So I’ve been able to play a few games on this terrain and its getting better each time.

Necromunda Chaos Cultists conversions

I fundamentally cannot paint and play armies for good. Dark Mechanicus, Traitor Sons of Horus, Sons of Sek. Crazy Goliaths are the closest to 'good'. So I figured I'd go for some Cultists to even it out!

These boys are rolling up in your sump, right now.

Gang hideout

So after starting a gang I realised I needed some more terrain in the urban space! So I had a decent amount to kit out a ZM, but themed stuff would be better. I decided that I wanted somewhere that I could defend in a Campaign setting.

Weekly progress: Necromunda Shanty and Mortalis 'joiners'

Not so much weekly progress but pretty much the only thing I've been able to attempt to get completed for a good month or so. Blame the family I say!

This was a Antenocitis gift from the missus when I thought I might enjoy Infinity (which, it turns out I did not). These flat packed buildings normally form three similarly sized stackable blocks, and they can be built quite easily.

Unless you're me. I don't know why I think that force is a good way to get these MDF lasercut buildings to go together, but it really doesn't work.

DIY Necromunda Mortalis floor tiles

So I made some tiles. Some pitted Mortalis tiles.  I'd wanted to expand my board, but not my debt, so I chose to use some of the out of the box Necromunda tiles into some filler ones for the battlefield.
With some Polyfilla and a bit of PVA mix and a press mould, I made some more flat surfaces for my terrain to sit on.

Weathering makes me moist...

Necromunda Terrain goodness!
Nothing brings a piece to life like great examples of natural elements (or unnatural elements) enhancing the paint process. If anything its also a great way to get some really weird colours added in.

DIY Battlefield, third stages

I made a fair amount more progress on the Snow board One of the main things that I see whenever a Snow board is referenced is the disparity between blue and grey tinting to the snow.

Normally when you see these boards completed they always have a very grey tint to them, and that's not necessarily the look that I would expect to have for a field of snow.

See the picture, blue sky, dark shadows on the snow.
You'd expect blue with ice, not so much with snow.

I ran a couple of testers to see if I could identify which look I wanted most across the whole board.

DIY Battlefield, second stages

So this has taken a fair amount of time, but mainly due to this being stop-start. Doing this all in one go would be far easier, less mixing stuff, less building etc.
I started with the divider section as a tester. this should help me see how things work and how the actual process would work.
