This board was initially setup to play the caravan mission, but turned out to be pretty well set up for other games too. At the time of playing, I've still not had the opportunity to get an actual Caravan mission game in, as the gangs have been fighting over the ambush site itself.
Main thing here I wanted (apologies for shakey-cam) was for the Caravan to feel sufficiently exposed, but be unimpeded on its journey to across the hive-floor.
I'll definitely be adding some more scatter terrain for the defenders to crouch behind as the caravan moves.
I wanted high vantage points for the ambush to truly feel like the defenders were risking the journey, and also for that classic 'canyon capers' type approach you see everywhere.
Artificial canyons work too!
The caravan escort mission looks like it will be a blast. Will report once finished!
As conversion is my thing I gave these guys the bare minimum attention to make them hiver-y. A couple were turned into lifter servitors, a couple were turned into some hivemen out for a drink. In general, I didn’t want to give them much of my time considering how much Heresy stuff is unpainted!
I’ve got a fairly good central ‘square’ location which I’ll try and theme the scenario around, but I’ll probably make a few tables and maybe a small shop to show why these guys collected in this place.
Looking forward to trying this scenario soon too.
This and last week I've played a couple of games and am now involved in three total Necromunda campaigns with 2 gangs, Goliath and Cults
2 of these have a fairly high game-rate, roughly weekly, and one is far more sporadic. All in all, most of my gangs are doing well across the board.
I showed these last week but I finally based the Escher Enforcers I’d made, and tried to sort out the clear base fogging I’d experienced when basing them.
Stupidly, I didn’t look ahead at tips for how to manage these well, and apparently a fan passing over the base while the glue is drying drastically reduces the likelihood of fogging.
I tried to fix this with a bit of experimentation, I tried straight Lahmian medium, no dice. Then straight ‘ardcoat, better, but not great. Finally I tried mixing the two and this looks better, but still will need to see they last.
Caravan Heist pics to follow!
